It went on to win that year’s best picture, Oscar. In total it won six Oscars!

The character of Forrest Gump is so complex and yet simple, that no other actor than Hanks could have been able to give life to him. His portrayal of Gump is tremendous and so surreal- it makes you smile the entire time you watch him. Even the moments of sadness is depicted with such generosity that instead of crying one can simply feel those emotions through the heart. There is a number of underlying topics for discussion in the movie that still makes it the best movie ever!
The story offers something for everyone and there is so much to take away from the unexpected life journey of Forrest Gump. A classic Oscar-winning movie gave us some of the most important life lessons like being compassionate, insightful, fierce, optimistic, and productive. Forrest Gump did everything he loved which includes his love for others, he just followed his gut, and everything worked out in the end. For example, when he opened Bubba Gump Shrimp, he didn’t just fulfill his friend’s dream but also gave livelihood to a man who otherwise thought himself unworthy. This selfless act by Gump wasn’t totally selfless as he too quite earned a fortune from a business that wasn’t planned. So, even though Gump was considered retarded his joyful optimism made him a promising man.

Throughout the movie, Gump was in love with his childhood friend Jenny and even though the two were apart for most of the time, Gump loved her always. He did whatever he could for Jenny till the very end, in fact, even when Jenny didn’t love him- he loved her wholeheartedly. Everyone has an insightful perspective of life, but his vision was full of wisdom and uniqueness. He shared his slice of life with strangers no matter his vocabulary or presentation, it was worth listening to. Nobody should be ashamed of their choices unless it’s not hurting anyone.
Gump was never afraid of trying new things and embraced failure, which is a great lesson. No one in this world is perfect, especially when they’re trying something for the first time, but sometimes you can surprise yourself by being good at it or even just enjoying a new hobby. Forrest shared his story with multiple strangers and wasn’t scared to start a conversation, regardless of their position or status in society. He never took himself too seriously even if it means making a fool of himself in front of people. For an instant, he never hesitated once to say he has to pee, in front of the President!
Gump is relentlessly optimistic and maybe this was the reason that things worked out even in difficult situations. No matter how much things were negative or sad around him, he never lost his presence, and it was this personality that made those sad moments more blissful!
And though the movies remain one of the best of all time, it wouldn’t have happened at all if Gump didn’t start a conversation with plain strangers. If he chose to remain quiet like most of us, there wouldn’t be any story and the world could have missed such a great tale! It’s a reminder that sometimes strangers are the most beautiful storytellers as well as listeners. Forrest Gump is a character that’s hard to forget. Tom Hanks left an everlasting impact on the world that one cannot differentiate that it was a movie and not real. The realistic approach made him so much alive and courageous that you can’t help but fall in love with him.
