The super bowl trailer of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has just been released and it promised a super mind-bending crossover. As previously revealed in Spider No Way Home, Elizabeth Olsen will be reprising her role as Scarlett Witch in the movie. Along with her the movie also marks the debut of America Chavez played by Xochitl Gomez.
Doctor Strange action post Endgame has opened gates to the multiverse, as his spells went wrong in Spiderman No Way Home, the universes are now overlapping. The door to the multiverse has been opened and not only heroes but even supervillains could also be seen flocking in from different timelines. The new trailer unfolds after the multiverse overlaps and Doctor Strange reliving a dream of a deserted mansion standing in the middle of nowhere with skeletons surrounding it, an alien attacking the world, and more.

Shaken by it, Strange realized that his reality itself is no less than a nightmare either.
As Doctor Strange justifies his action by saying it was needed to save the world, he was countered by Wong who blamed him for messing up with the multiverse. The sorcerous is then taken into custody by the Illuminati, comprising the greatest minds in the Marvel universe. At this moment, we could hear a voice “Tell them the truth, Strange”, and fans assume that the voice belongs to none other than Patrick Stewart’s Charles Xavier. While his face isn’t revealed, it seems like the rumors have just been confirmed.
The potential crossover could happen as the trailer hinted a possible doorway for X-Men characters into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. During the Disney-Fox acquisition, the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Deadpool, all came under the MCU, giving Marvel Studios space to introduce more Marvel characters into the MCU timeline. Fans have been since waiting for Feige to share his plans for the X-Men in MCU. With Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the plan seems to be finally coming in line.
Another rumor, Tom Cruise playing an Iron Man variant also seems to be confirmed. Many fans are convinced they have discovered Tom Cruise in a blink-and-miss appearance. A flying hero in a suit of armor is seen charging at America Chavez and fans are convinced that the being is none other than the evil Iron Man Variant. If these rumors are to be true, Doctor Strange 2 could become one the highest-grossing movie of MCU history.

Xochitl Gomez’s America Chavez is also seen kicking asses along Strange in the trailer. The trailer confirmed multiple variants of both Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch while the poster confirms Marvel Zombies and Captain Carter jumping into the multiverse. For now, Gargantos, the tentacled monster, and Shuma-Gorath are confirmed, there may be possibilities of a giant villain madness in the movie.
“Every night I dream the same dream, then the nightmare begins.”
These lines also seem to finally introduce the long-time foe of Strange from Marvel Comics, Nightmare. Though the appearance is still not confirmed by either Fiege or the Studio. The leading villain of the movie is not revealed yet however, fans are convinced that it is indeed Wanda who is Strange’s ultimate opponent as she could be seen reading the Darkhold in order to find her children. And all these multiverse fractures could be caused by her desperately trying to find her children.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to release on May 6 this year.
